Visitor rise at Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre in 2012, claims owner

EUROPE - Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre in Finland, has posted a 100,000 increase in visitors to the venue in 2012, compared to the previous year.
 
The venue claims to have welcomed 1.15m visitors in 2012 attending exhibitions, meetings, congresses and corporate events. These visitors attended 1,631 meetings and congresses and 95 exhibitions.
 
The largest international congress held at the venue in 2012 was the World Library and Information Congress, which brought 4,200 international visitors to the centre. In addition, the venue hosted, for the first time, the Summer Sound festival for electronic music and the world-famous motor show, Top Gear Live.
 
“This has been a successful year for the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre,” says Mikko Horppu, sales director of the Finnish Fair Corporation, owner of the venue.
 
“The organisational reform executed at the beginning of this year will further strengthen the venue’s sales and customer service. Through organisational development, we will also open up new opportunities for the enhancement of the premises and facilities for organising events.”
