EuroBlech exhibitor result rises against challenging economic conditions

EUROPE - Mack Brooks’ EuroBlech sheet metal working technology trade fair has reported a rise in exhibitors against the continued challenging economic conditions.

The biennial show at Hanover on 23-27 October covered 84,000sqm and featured 1,520 exhibitors from 39 countries, up five per cent on its 2010 edition. The most important exhibitor countries after Germany included Italy, Turkey, China and The Netherlands.

The organiser said 60,500 international trade visitors attended this year, on par with its previous edition. Of these, 36 per cent came from outside Germany.

A particular highlight was a 20 per cent increase in visitors from companies with more than 500 employees. Overall, 40 per cent attended EuroBlech with a definite intention of buying.

“A first analysis of the exhibitor survey shows that exhibiting companies were highly satisfied with the outcome of the exhibition, even though the current economic situation remains uncertain,” exhibition director Nicola Hamann said.

“However, German exhibitors assessed the business climate as much more favourable than companies from outside Germany.”

Mack Brooks said 70 per cent of exhibitors onsite indicated they would exhibit again when EuroBlech returns to Hanover on 21-25 October.

The organiser is now turning its attention to its regional events programme next year including Blech Russia, India and its Blech China launch in Suzhou on 14-16 May 2013.
