Abu Dhabi cracks down on violating health and beauty products at Eid-al-Adha Show

MIDDLE EAST - The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City launched an inspection on cosmetics outlets in participating in the Eid al-Adha Show at ADNEC.

The inspection, conducted in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), resulted in the confiscation of products it claimed violated public health laws.

The violating products included creams, slimming products, sex tonics and contact lenses, among other anonymous medical preparations and mixtures, according to Emirates News Agency WAM.

Director of Public Health at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, Khalifa Al Rumaithi, said the campaign falls within the framework of the emirate’s desire to enforce world-class health stipulations and standards regarding exhibits, public hygiene, and the fulfillment of health and safety requirements.

“The inspection teams carried out the campaign to verify that the exhibition venue complies with the public health stipulations and that exhibits conform to the public health standards in keeping with the municipality's keen attention to safeguard the health of the community,” he said.

“The Municipality reviews health violations very seriously and enforces the relevant laws in a bid to provide a safe and healthy shopping environment for all expo goers," he added.

Al Rumaithi reminded traders and exhibitors participating in the show of the importance to cooperate with authorities and comply with health stipulations and standards that ought to be met in the exhibits.
