Polish students create vision of exhibitions in 2020

EUROPE - A new competition aimed at discovering the exhibition of the future has rewarded its winners at the 3rd International Science Conference on Trade Fair Education and Development.

Titled ‘The Vision of Exhibitions by 2020’, the competition was organised jointly by the Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry (PCEI) and international exhibition statistics union Centrex at Amber Expo Gdansk.

The purpose of the competition was to learn about students' knowledge of exhibitions and their potential communication functions in the 21st century, gaining insight into young people's views of the future of exhibitions.

“Above all,” a spokesman said, “the competition is being held to encourage young people to get involved in the development of exhibitions, including both promotion of participation, as part of everyday life.”

First and second prize went to teams representing Rzeszow University of Technology while third place was awarded to a student of Poznan University of Economics.

The competition was originally created by Centrex, a partner of PCEI in promotional activities and the auditor of Polish exhibition statistics, and addressed to students of all universities and colleges of Centrex member-countries [Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine].

In all, 13 papers were entered in the competition by students from tertiary institutions including Rzeszow University of Technology, Poznan University of Economics and Warsaw University of Technology. Both international and domestic categories were available.

Winners were chosen by a competition jury chaired by president of the board of PCEI, Andrzej Byrt.
