Reed goes Hybrid with new German materials show

EUROPE - Reed Exhibitions is launching a new trade show for the hybrid materials sector alongside its longstanding Composites Europe brand.

Hybrid Expo will debut at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from 17 to 19 September 2013 and is expected to attract 150 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors. In all, 5,000sqm of exhibition space will be available.

The new trade show is a complement to Composites Europe and will focus on hybrid materials such as Glare, a glass-fibre reinforced aluminium developed for aircraft construction. These materials feature strongly in the aerospace, electronics and automotive industries.

Content and exhibitors will focus on the full production and value chain, including materials research and technology through to manufacturing and finished components. Show features include a demonstration area and forum.

“With Hybrid Expo we offer the industry another high-power trade fair in the future market of lightweight construction, which dovetails ideally with the existing materials trade fairs,” said Reed Exhibitions Germany CEO Hans-Joachim Erbel.

The event will initially be co-located with the 2013 Composites Europe and Aluminium shows at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre, which attract more than 20,000 trade visitors, 40 per cent of which come from overseas. The two events are currently running until 11 October and feature 1,300 exhibitors.

Composites Europe and Aluminium have also been geocloned in Shanghai, Mumbai, Dubai and Sao Paolo.

In recent months, Reed and Manch Communications have extended their Indian partnership to tap into the booming composites industry in India.
