Golf Europe likely to stay at Messe Augsburg

EUROPE – This year’s Golf Europe, which took place at Augsburg Exhibition Centre (Messe Augsburg) for the first time this year swung 1,948 trade visitors from 34 countries.

The 19th edition of the event fielded 114 exhibitors showcasing more than 170 brands. Almost half of visitors travelled from abroad, prompting the MD of Messe Augsburg, Gerhard Reiter, to suggest the event would remain at the venue for the foreseeable future.

“Feedback is unanimous that the industry needs Golf Europe and Augsburg has proved that it is an ideal location, the conviction that the trade fair is important within Europe has pervaded nearly every conversation,” said Reiter.

The result is a boon for Messe Augsburg, as opinion on staging the event at the new venue was divided prior to the trade fair.

A day before the actual start of the trade fair, events teed off with the Augsburg Golf Day, for visitors interested in playing golf, and a Demo Day for trade visitors.

Beginners and advanced players alike had a chance to test new products at Augsburg's Golf Range, while trade visitors used the opportunity for networking.
