MATELEC 2012 target attendees from four key areas

EUROPE - The International Salon of Solutions for the Electric and Electronic Industry, MATELEC 2012, takes place on 23-26 October 2012 at the Feria de Madrid exhibition centre, with nearly 600 international guests expected.

Madrid-based organiser and venue IFEMA (pictured) claims the visitors will be from four geographical areas: Mediterranean Countries, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

These four geographical areas were chosen after a study by MATELEC and the different associations of the sector. The main aim of the study was to  identify which countries can be foreseen over the short term to have a greater import capacity for the type of material presented at the fair.

The event is planned to be a comprehensive international marketing tool tailored to the needs of each company in this sector, companies in which attracting foreign demand is a priority objective.

The 600 MATELEC attendees from the four regions were obtained through AMEC-AMELEC, the Spanish Association of Electrical and Electronic Material Manufacturers and Exporters, and AFME, the Association of Electrical Material Manufacturers, represented in the Organising Committee of the fair, as part of their international promotion plan.

According to Raúl Calleja, director of MATELEC, extending the international field of action is part of its strategy. “This is a direct way to extend the profile of visitors to the fair and create new business areas, while repositioning the fair internationally,” he said.

IFEMA is to co-locate two of its fashion and consumer goods events from September 2013.
