Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair celebrates 30th anniversary

ASIA - The September Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair 2012 at AsiaWorld-Expo opens today (19 September) with the ‘world’s largest diamond pavilion’, its organiser claims.
 
Concurrently held at two venues, AsiaWorld-Expo (19-23 September) and Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (21-25 September), under the concept of ‘One Fair, Two Venues’, the Jewellery and Gem Fair is organised by UBM Asia and more than 51,000 international buyers are expected to visit the two venues’ exhibition space, which totals about 130,00sqm.
 
Celine Lau, director of Jewellery Fairs at UBM Asia remarked that the 30th anniversary of the Fair had attracted a record 3,500 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions.
 
AsiaWorld-Expo is a public-private partnership between the Hong Kong SAR Government (majority shareholder) and a private sector consortium formed by Dragages Hong Kong and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia), with the Airport Authority Hong Kong contributing the land.
