Korean ageing expo opens at Kintex

ASIA – Korea has opened the doors to a new event aimed at helping companies and individuals prepare for an ageing society.

The Senior and People with Disabilities Expo (Sendex) runs from 30 August to 1 September at the Korea International Exhibition Center (Kintex), as part of the greater event, Synthesis Welfare Contents Expo.

Running alongside Sendex is the Smart Aging Expo, with 120 companies exhibiting age-related products including health, housing and finance, and the International Assistive Technology Fair, which features products such as wheelchairs.

The latter is accompanied by ‘The 6th International Assistive Technology Symposium', a conference to aid the progression of research and development in the assistive technology industry.

A spokesman for Sendex said the event has been conceived “to invigorate the assistive technology and senior-friendly industries, which are getting  lots of attention as the elderly population increases.”

Messe Frankfurt Korea recently moved to a new location 30 minutes from Kintex and Incheon International Airport.
