Reed Exhibitions claims 30% growth for department store show CDATF

ASIA – The organisers of the longest standing show in China’s departmental store industry (CDATF) has claimed the event grew by nearly a third under its new banner, Reed Huabai Exhibitions.

The 106th edition of CDATF was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from 2 to 4 August. This year’s event is the first under the new partnership agreement between Reed Huabo Exhibitions, part of Reed Exhibitions China, and CCAGM Exhibition (Beijing) Holdings.

Reed claims the success of CDATF was testament to Reed Exhibitions’ ability to expand local markets through strategic joint ventures, complemented by Reed Huabai GM Chu Xiu Qi’s local knowledge.

“Reed was able to lend its expertise in sales and marketing to raise the profile of the event and attract a greater number of high quality participants,” said president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China Preecha Chen.

“From the CCAGM side, the event benefited greatly from Mr Chu’s astute leadership and the chamber’s in-depth knowledge of industry and market trends. Based on these stellar 2012 figures, I’m confident that the show is poised to grow from strength to strength in its future editions," he said.

The show’s exhibition area of 90,000sqm, home to 3,800 booths and 22,608 visitors point to significant year-on-year improvements.

In terms of scale, this year’s show was 30 per cent larger than in 2011, with more exhibitor sdisplaying homeware, glassware, ceramics, bamboo products, kitchen and metal accessories, textiles and numerous other wares.

“The increases that we’ve seen at CDATF this year confirms the value of bringing together two powerful entities to create an even stronger aggregate,” commented Chen.
