Messe Frankfurt Korea relocates office

ASIA - Messe Frankfurt Korea’s move to the Digital Media City (DMC) complex in Seoul will leave it well placed to take advantage of the nation’s growing exhibition industry, according to its managing director.

The firm is now situated in Nuritkum Square, a government-sponsored office complex designed for collaboration between a range of industries in the DMC. Its new facility measures 300sqm, more than twice the size of the company’s old premises.

Messe Frankfurt Korea’s new location is about 30 minutes from the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX), the country’s largest exhibition venue at 108,483sqm, and Incheon International Airport.

“Nuritkum Square and the overall DMC complex provides a number of opportunities for Messe Frankfurt in Korea,” said Messe Frankfurt Korea MD Yong-Joon Jin.

“It is my belief that by positioning ourselves within Nuritkum Square, Messe Frankfurt Korea is well placed to take advantage of the growth in Korea’s exhibition industry.”

Messe Frankfurt Korea organises one biennial fair domestically, the Korea Railways and Logistics Fair. Located within the port city of Busan, this is a key industrial exhibition for railway technology, infrastructure and logistics.

In 2011, Messe Frankfurt organised 100 trade fairs, of which more than half took place outside Germany. The German organiser and operator reported group revenue of nearly €500m last year.
