WORLD - CBME organiser UBM Asia is working with Istanbul organiser EFEM to support each other's baby products events.
Turkish-based EFEM organises the International Istanbul Mothers, Babies, Children Products Fair (MBCP) and Wintexpo Autumn Winter Baby Child Fashion Fair (Wintexpo), two of the leading baby shows in the country.
Both CBME and MBCP are based in markets with strong growth opportunities. China has the largest population in the world with continuous growth in consumption especially in children and baby products/services, while Turkey has the highest birth rate in the world. The co-operation between UBM and EFEM aims to facilitate global buyers and sellers of the baby products industry.
The partnership will see both parties offer support on the sales and marketing of these events.
UBM’s CBME show is Asia's largest for the baby products market. The 2012 edition will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on 18-20 July, bringing together 1,287 international exhibitors on 115,840sqm of exhibition space. This represents a 50 per cent and 44 per cent increase respectively on last year’s event. More than 90,000 visitors are expected.
To capitalise on the success of CBME, UBM Asia is also launching CBME shows in Brazil and India in 2013.
The 20-year-old MBCP show in Istanbul claims to be the third largest baby products show in Europe. The 2012 edition was held at CNR Expo and attracted 7,000 trade visitors, mostly buyers from baby specialty stores, wholesalers and retailers. As with CBME its exhibit scope also covers apparel, furniture, toy, food and services.
EFEM directors Erdal Baykara and Huseyin Irmak said: “MBCP and Wintexpo are well-established as the leading baby shows in Turkey and it is high time to take them to a new level. UBM has a very strong international network and we look forward to a very successful co-operation with UBM in getting more international brands and participants to the show.”
UBM’s Ecobuild events recently teamed up with the Greenbuild event organised by AMB Exhibitions in Malaysia.
