UBM links Ecobuild with Malaysian Greenbuild event

ASIA – UBM’s Ecobuild events have teamed up with the Greenbuild event organised by AMB Exhibitions in Malaysia.

Ecobuild is one of the world's leading events for sustainable design, construction and built environment. The March event brought 57,000 industry professionals to Excel London in the UK, viewing products, services and innovations from 1,500 exhibitors. The brand has also been geo-adapted to Asia, in India and China.

Greenbuild Asia is Southeast Asia's largest event for sustainable building, design and construction, taking place in conjunction with the International Construction Week 2012, hosted by the Construction Industry Development Board.

It’s most recent edition, in Kuala Lumpur, united 11,000 trade buyers with 450 exhibiting companies from 32 countries. In 2013 the exhibition moves to a larger exhibition venue at the Putra World Trade Centre to accommodate the increasing demand for space.

This is the second co-operation between UBM and AMB. In May 2011 UBM acquired AMB's businesses related to water, livestock, energy, and mechanical/electrical industries in Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Of these, the two largest shows are AsiaWater and ASEAN M&E Expo.

President and CEO of UBM Asia Jime Essink said: “Southeast Asia is a big potential market for sustainable construction and building. We are very pleased that our Ecobuild events can co-operate with AMB's Greenbuild event to tap this market because we have experienced the tremendous contribution  to UBM's accelerated growth in the exhibition industry in Southeast Asia, which made UBM Malaysia already the biggest exhibition organiser in Malaysia.”

UBM claims more than 15,000 visitors and 127 exhibitors attended the debut edition of Ecobuild China earlier this year.
