Reed Exhibitions in Manch link-up

ASIA - Reed Exhibitions has formed a joint venture with India’s Manch Communications to form Reed Manch Exhibitions.

Based in New Delhi, Reed Manch Exhibitions will grow several B2B trade shows in line with Manch’s event portfolio, including warehousing, cold storage, transport and logistics and materials handling.

The joint venture is expected to address the issues faced by a burgeoning retail sector and improve efficiency in India’s supply chain industry.

India’s logistics market will hold some attraction for Reed due to the size and growth potential of India’s economy. The market is estimated at US$125bn in India alone, and the sector is expected to grow at 15 per cent per annum, fuelled by a growing Indian economy, government support, infrastructure and a need for logistics solutions.

Reed Exhibitions’ regional president Dan Londero said he is confident the synergistic competencies of each company will enable the new venture to deliver effective business platforms.

“Reed’s global expertise in this sector and extensive sales networks across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US will be leveraged so as to strengthen the international content of the events,” he said.

Manch Communications owners Anuj Mathur and Kiran Mittal said the partnership represents an “exciting new chapter” for the warehousing and logistics communities in India.

“The combination of our local expertise and network and Reed Exhibitions’ global connections and collaboration possibilities with similar events around the world, promises a very strong and bright future for this new venture,” they said in a statement. “We look forward to developing and taking this partnership to its full potential.”
