Comexposium CEO joins UFI presidential trio

EUROPE - Global exhibition industry association UFI has announced a new senior triumvirate that sees Comexposium and Viparis CEO Renaud Hamaide join Arie Briennen and Chen Xian Jin at the top table.

Hamaide will be the newcomer to the three-year UFI presidential cycle, which begins at the 79th UFI Congress in Abu Dhabi in November. He will serve one year as incoming president, one as president and one as past-president. UFI's presidential rotation is such that incumbent president has the support of two executive vice-presidents, a structure UFI claims allows for rapid and geographically varied leadership while ensuring continuity within the organisation.

Commenting on Hamaide's addition to the top table, current UFI president Briennen said: “Renaud is an excellent addition to UFI’s executive trio. He is leading one of the world’s most important exhibition businesses and will bring a wide range of business experience to the leadership of our organisation.

Hamaide has been CEO of France's Comexposium group, organiser of five of the top 10 exhibitions in France, since 2010. He is also executive CEO at Viparis, which manages most of the major exhibition venues in Paris.

UFI is the global association of the world’s leading trade show organisers and exhibition centre operators, as well as the major national and international exhibition associations. Today it represents 593 members from 85 countries.

UFI’s main goal is to represent, promote and support the business interests of its members and the exhibition industry. On Tuesday 19 June the association announced the formation of an alliance with the European Major Exhibition Centres Association (EMECA) to promote the significance of the exhibition industry within the European Union (EU).
