Arun Madhok named acting CEO of Suntec Singapore

ASIA - Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre has appointed its chief operating officer Arun Madhok to the role of acting CEO in the wake of Pieter Idenburg’s departure.

Madhok, who joined Suntec as director of business development in 2009, will now be responsible for driving business and raising service standards.

A spokesman for Suntec confirmed former CEO Idenburg left the company to explore other opportunities, having led Suntec Singapore “successfully” for the past seven years.

Madhok was promoted to the position of chief operating officer at the beginning of the year and was instrumental in developing the strategy and modernisation programme currently underway at the Singaporean venue.

He also spearheaded the review of the venue’s operational activities and implemented wide ranging changes, according to the spokesman.

Suntec renewed its partnership with the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) earlier this year.
