Messe Munich International launches Indian green tech expo

ASIA - Messe Munich is launching an environmental technology fair for the Indian market as part of a re-orientation of its global strategy.

The first IFAT India takes place at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) from 24 to 26 October 2013.

The organisers – Messe Munich and its subsidiary MMI India – expect the premiere of this Indian offshoot to attract about 100 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors, using 6,000sqm of exhibition space at BCEC.

Messe Munich International MD Eugen Egetenmeir said the Indian market for environmental services is set to grow to a total volume of €3.2bn (US$4.03) by 2013.

“Increasing urbanisation and greater environmental consciousness in India are leading to a growing demand for modern environmental technologies and services,” he commented. “This is what our new event is focusing on."

Messe Mü Munich already organises two established events for the sector: IFAT ENTSORGA in Munich, and IE expo in Shanghai.
