Mack Brooks launches BLECH trade show into China

ASIA - Mack Brooks has announced a new China edition of its BLECH sheet metal trade show based in Suzhou next year.

The biennial event will be held at the Suzhou International Expo Centre from 14 to 16 May and is co-located with the organiser’s Fastener Fair China 2013, which focuses on the engineering fastener and fixings industry.

BLECH also runs biennial exhibitions in India and Russia, as well as the internationally-focused EuroBLECH every two years in Hannover, Germany. The Chinese edition will focus on allsectors of the sheet metal manufacturing process, ranging from metal-forming and bending solutions to quality assurance and material handling.

Mack Brooks pointed out Suzhou is China’s second-largest industrial city with the fifth largest GDP across the country, offering strong manufacturing opportunities. The city has a population of 10 million and lies to the west of Shanghai, providing convenient access to the Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao international airports.

Suzhou also lies within the Yangtze River Delta region, which generates 26 per cent of the country’s GDP and attracts 52 per cent of foreign investment.

“BLECH China joins our other BLECH events in providing a specialised and dedicated meeting place for sheet metal suppliers and buyers in key growth regions,” Mack Brooks Exhibitions MD David Tellett said.

“With our experience as the organisers of EuroBLECH and our presence in China through Mack Brooks Exhibitions [Shanghai], we can offer our exhibitors solid platforms for new business contacts in this major sheet metal market”.

Across the rest of Asia, Mack Brooks has also announced a new Fastener Fair in Thailand later this year.
