Consumer electronics show launches in Delhi

ASIA - New Delhi will host a new home electronics exhibition in October, modeled on events such as CES in Las Vegas.

HES-New Delhi is expected to be India’s biggest ever international exhibition on consumer electronics, ICT and digital lifestyle, and will be held on 26-28 October at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The exhibition is hoped to follow the success of consumer electronics trade shows including International CES in Las Vegas, IFA in Berlin and the recent concluded Computex Taipei.

HES-New Delhi will showcase more than 200 international manufacturers for 50,000 buyers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content and services. Key markets served will include audio, web application development, automotive electronics, computer hardware, connected home, digital imaging, electronic gaming, emerging technology, lifestyle electronics, telecommunications and wireless technologies.

The event is organised by ITEN Media in association with the Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association of India (CEAMA), and supported by industry associations including the US-based Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which owns and produces the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, International CES. The show also has support from CCPIT (The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade), ELCINA (Electronic Industries Association of India) and ICA (The Indian Cellular Association).

Earlier this year the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) made a fresh appeal to Government to give the Indian exhibition industry official recognition.
