Second Oman human resources exhibition scheduled for September

MIDDLE EAST - Oman’s second Human Resources Development Expo has been scheduled for 23-25 September at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition, a significant event and the only HRD Expo in Oman, will be organised by Al Nimr Expo in association with Oman’s Ministry of Civil Service. It sets out to encourage productive discussion, networking and the exchange of knowledge between Government training departments, public administrators, HR executives from various industry sectors of oil and gas, banking and financial services, aviation, construction, telecom and the exhibitors participating in the exhibition.

The event follows what the organiser described as a successful 2011 event, and will involve not only the Ministry of Civil Service but other Governmental units, to enhance and promote communication and cooperation among all units of the state and private sector establishments to seek ways of improving the quality of HR development.

Director of Al Nimr Expo Melwin D'Cunha said the expo focuses on the “knowledge and development” of human resources by upgrading the skills of the work force in the public and private sector.

“The event also provides a platform to exhibit focused courses, training packages, HR strategies, innovative policies and the overall improvement of the technical skills of employees,” said D'Cunha. “The event is an opportunity to bring leaders and trend setting companies to showcase current HR practices and inspiring case studies to promote human asset management.”

Human Resources Development 2012 is one of the basic dimensions of Oman’s 'Vision 2020', an initiative to develop potential and scientific capabilities of the Omani citizens, with basic education, technical and vocational training, skill development and specialisation in the relevant fields, so that they can play a key role in the development of the country.

Earlier this year Al Nimr Expo confirmed a second edition of the infrastructure event Infra Oman, as the market for civic development picks up.
