Golf Europe moves to Augsburg

EUROPE - The Golf Europe show has announced it is moving to Messe Augsburg later this year.

The show moves from Munich, and will be staged on 16-18 September. It will feature equipment, clothing and accessories, product innovations, shop fittings, a golf driving range, an indoor putting green, golf-related tourism, golf literature as well as golf newspapers and publishers.

The show will be hosted by PGA Europe and PGA Germany.

"We are pleased that Golf Europe has found a new home in Augsburg and that it has found strong partners to take the successful concept forward into the future,” said Messe Augsburg head Gerhard Reiter.

“There will be a stage for speakers and a catwalk, both of which will give manufacturers, buyers and pros additional promotional opportunities.

“Furthermore, we plan on holding “Get into Golf” events across the city basically ensuring that golf takes over Augsburg for this weekend in September,” he added.

Messe Munich announced the postponement of the 2011 Golf Europe exhibition last year.

According to Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe Munich, structural changes in the golf market required a review of the trade show concept.
