New India expo taps into burgeoning mechanical electrical and plumbing sector

ASIA – A new trade expo for the mechanical electrical and plumbing industry in India will debut next year in Mumbai.

The Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) Expo is scheduled for the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 23 to 25 May 2013 and is being organised by INIS Enterprises.

The trade fair aims to be a one-stop shop for manufacturing, contracting, commissioning and after-sales services including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical contracting, plumbing and water management. According to the organiser, the industry forms the second most important component of construction after civil works.

INIS claimed India’s construction sector had experienced major change in recent years as players adapt to modern methods and fast-track techniques to cope with exponential demand for real estate and infrastructure. This is driving growing opportunities in the MEP sector, an emerging industry still finding its feet in India.

Exhibitors at MEP Expo are expected to stretch from MEP contractors and service providers to technology manufacturers covering air conditioning, water, refrigeration, insulation, pipes, plumbing, electrical engineers, lighting and building management systems.

INIS’s target visitor profile includes real estate and industrial developers, consultants, project managers, urban planners, architects, facility managers, utility owners, manufacturers and distributors, hoteliers and hospital administrators and fire service officials.

Alongside the main exhibition, the organiser will run a one-day conference addressing the mechanical electrical and plumbing sector on 24 May.

In related news, UBM Built Environment is launching its successful UK sustainable construction show Ecobuild in India from 16 to 18 April 2013.
