Suomen Videoviestinta wins APEC AV contract

EUROPE - Audiovisual technology company Suomen Videoviestintä (SVV) has won a major event tender in Russia.

SVV, a subsidiary of Finnish Fair Corporation, will be responsible for the conference technology used at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Second Senior Official's Meeting in Kazan, Russia, which will be held in late May.

“Since 2007, we have supplied the technology for the main conference room at the annual St Petersburg International Economic Forum,” says technical director at Finnish Fair Corporation, Mika Vakkilainen.

At the APEC Meeting in Russia SVV will provide the technical equipment for the ministers' meeting room as well as eight other conference facilities. The duration of the project including building, implementation and dismantling is approximately one month.

APEC was founded in 1989 to promote economic growth, co-operation, trade and investments in the Pacific Rim area. Participants of the Kazan meeting will include key economic experts from 25 countries.

In June, the company will provide the technology for the Women and the Economy Forum in St Petersburg, which is part of the APECconference series. Among the participants will be US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

In addition, SVV is currently negotiating a follow-up agreement regarding the closing meetings of Russia's APEC presidency, which will be staged in Khabarovsk, St Petersburg and Vladivostok in the autumn.

SVV’s business operations in Russia have been advanced by a co-operation agreement with Restec, a Russian company specialising in event organisation.

Conferences supplied by SVV in Finland include the Asia–Europe Meeting summit and SVV provided AV services and technology for the Finnish pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo.
