Alimentaria teams up with Paris hotel and restaurant event

EUROPE – Alimentaria has reached an agreement with French show Equip’Hotel, an event for the café, hotel and restaurant business.
 
The decision to unite with Equip’Hotel, another of Reed Exhibitions’ events, is an effort to take advantage of cross-promotion between the two linked sectors of the hospitality and F+B (food and beverage) sectors.
 
Initiatives include inviting international hosted buyers with an interest in both shows, as well as exchanging information on the shows’ respective websites, and the possibility of implementing new strategic activities involving both events.
 
This year's four-day edition of Alimentaria, held at Fira de Barcelona, Spain, closes today. Media attention in the show has been strong, which had more than 1,100 journalists registered for the first day of the event.
 
Much of this is due to the launch of new initiatives. For example, this year saw the launch of The Alimentaria Hub, a strategic pavilion designed to entice attendees interested in education, training, innovation and business. It occupies a 4,000sqm plot in Exhibition Hall 7.
 
Last year, Alimentaria announced a partnership with Diversified Business Communications to launch Seafood Barcelona, due to take place in autumn 2012.
 
Alimentaria is a joint venture between Alimentaria Exhibitions and Reed Exhibitions.
