UBM brings Ecobuild to India for 2013

UBM Built Environment is taking its Ecobuild show to a third country next year with the announcement of a new Indian show.

The show will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India, on 16 - 18 April 2013.

This announcement comes ahead of the launch of Ecobuild China on 9-12 April 2012, which will be positioned alongside UBM’s existing Expobuild show at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The UK show is currently running at Excel London.

"Sustainably developing an infrastructure to support this vast, youthful and vibrant population is high on the agenda in India right now," said Sanjeev Khaira, MD of UBM India.

"We see this as the ideal time to work with our UK colleagues to launch an Indian edition of the world's largest exhibition dedicated to the future of sustainable building design, construction and the built environment.

“We already organise India's largest event on sustainability, Renewable Energy India, along with some highly successful events in the built environment, which have synergies that will count towards making this launch a success."

Ecobuild's portfolio director James Blue said the launch event will contain the key components of the UK show.

He said the show would deliver a “showcase of the most impressive sustainable construction projects from across India and the world, the latest and most innovative products, and a conference programme that will tackle the most pressing concerns and the biggest challenges facing the region."

UBM posted a sharp events profit rise in its latest results
