Iteca and Kazakhstan exhibition portal join forces

ASIA - Iteca and the Kazakhstan exhibition portal (Expo.kz) are linking up to develop the exhibition and conference market in the Central Asian country.

Under the new agreement, Iteca and Expo.kz will merge operational activities to strengthen and develop exhibitions and conferences such as the Astana Mining and Metallurgy (AMM) and the occupational health, safety and security event, KIOSH.

Iteca, part of the ITE Group, has 20 years experience organising international exhibitions and conferences, currently managing more than 30 annual trade events spanning several industry sectors. Expo.kz is an online portal designed to promote and grow the Kazakhstan exhibition industry internationally.

Last year Iteca signed an agreement with Kazenergy Association to organise the Kazenergy Eurasian Forum (KIOGE - pictured) in 2011.

Dinmukhamed Kunayev, general director of Expo.kz, said: “This was a strategic decision. Iteca, with its market leadership position, international partners and wealth of experience in the field, will undoubtedly give real impetus to the AMM and KIOSH events.”

Kunayev believes the partnership will improve the general standard of events in Kazakhstan and, by extension, the quality and quantity of domestic and international exhibitors.

Executive director of Iteca, Yuri Borodikhin, said: “This agreement will strengthen our position with regards to trade conferences and is an excellent platform for the future development of Iteca’s business. We are delighted that we are involved with organising AMM and KIOSH and I am confident that we can add value for their existing participants and partners.”

Kazakhstan is the world's ninth largest country.
