ADNEC welcomes Singaporean student delegation

MIDDLE EAST – The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has done its bit to introduce a young demographic to the exhibition organising industry by hosting a delegation of 60 students from Singapore Polytechnic.

The students, studying a range of subjects from engineering and interior design to travel and events, visited the Emirate to learn about the strategic development of Abu Dhabi and some of the key sectors highlighted in its 2030 vision. This included an analyticalreview of tourism, hotels and leisure, events and exhibitions, and environment and water.

As part of their itinerary, the students visited the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre where they were welcomed by chief operating officer Khaled Al Hashmi, who introduced them to some of the venue’s key features.

“It is a pleasure to welcome these young students to Abu Dhabi and to help them understand the far-reaching impact an organisation like ADNEC and its overall contribution to the growth of our economy,” he said.

“Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders of industry. We are committed to developing our human capital at ADNEC and a placement programme at our sister facility Excel in London has proved both popular and effective as our people get invaluable international experience.

“But learning doesn’t end within our walls,” he continued. “We want to take part in the advancement of the international exhibition and events industry, and it all starts with education.”

The Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has officially launched the Abu Dhabi Air Expo at Al Bateen Executive Airport.
