Koelnmesse appoints VP of trade fair management

EUROPE - Koelnmesse has appointed the project manager of ProSweets Cologne and Photokina to become the venue and organiser’s new VP of trade fair management.

Christoph Werner will be responsible for events in the home, garden and leisure, and health sectors. Among the trade fairs in these sectors are the Cologne International Hardware Fair Eisenwarenmesse, Intermot Cologne, and the International Dental Show.

Werner has been a project manager at Koelnmesse since April 2005, and occupied roles in the international trade fair business for more than a decade, including a stint at Reed Exhibitions Deutschland as sales project manager.

He succeeds Metin Ergül, who leaves Koelnmesse at the end of the month to become the managing director of a company in the healthcare market.

"Christoph Werner has demonstrated his outstanding skills as a trade fair organiser in his work as the project manager of Photokina as well as elsewhere," says Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse.

"He stands out because of his strong concepts, his good anticipation of new sector trends and his strong commitment to his customers' success."
