SMG completes McCormick Place management team

AMERICAS - McCormick Place, the largest exhibition and meeting facility in North America has confirmed its management team.

The venue, owned by the Metropolitan Pier and Exhibition Authority (MPEA) selected SMG to manage the complex in 2011, and it has retained David Causton as general manager.

“We were very pleased when the MPEA agreed that SMG keep David Causton on as general manager,” said Wes Westley, SMG president and CEO.

“The relationship he has with both clients and staff is now just as strong with David’s new SMG family. The next step was to build a strong support team for him.”

Adrienne Tiritilli has been promoted to assistant general manager – sales and services, while Ryan Thorpe was named McCormick Place’s new director of facilities.

Located on Chicago’s lakefront, McCormick Place offers 240,000sqm of exhibit space, 173 meeting rooms, the 4,249-seat Arie Crown Theater and one of the largest ballrooms in the world.

Hannover Fairs USA, a subsidiary of trade fair organiser and exhibition centre Deutsche Messe, is launching a new event in the industrial manufacturing sector at McCormick Place on 10-15 September.
