WAN-IFRA media expo to be held in Berlin in 2013

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, WAN-IFRA, has will hold its annual exhibition of media technology in Germany in 2013.

The peripatetic IFRA Expo will run from 7 to 9 October 2013 at Messe Berlin fairgrounds following this year’s event in Madrid, Spain. It is the first time the event will take place in the German capital.

“Berlin is an exciting city, and highly attractive for international visitors,” WAN-IFRA executive director for marketing and event management Michael Heipel said. “The German capital has become a hub for media and it boasts a creative scene for music, arts and everything digital. The city ishome to influential publishing houses, and its superb infrastructure and affordable hotel rates make it an ideal venue for IFRA Expo.”

WAN-IFRA is the global organisation of the world’s newspapers and news publishers and represents 18,000 publications, 15,000 online sites and over 3,000 companies in more than 120countries.

Messe Berlin COO Dr. Christian Göke was delighted to welcome what he claimed was the largest global trade fair for the news publishing and media industry.

“Exhibitors and trade visitors attending IFRA Expo in Berlin will find excellent opportunities to successfully establish and realise new business contacts,” he said.

The next IFRA Expo 2012 willtake place from 29 to 31 October and is themed ‘New Markets, New Audiences’. It is expected to attract 8,000 visitors from 90 countries.
