Deutsche Messe US division appoints president and CEO

AMERICAS - Deutsche Messe is the latest international organiser to make a change at the top of its US division.

The German company behind shows including digital tech exhibition CeBIT, has named Larry Turner as president and CEO of its US subsidiary Hannover Fairs USA.

Turner served at Hannover Fairs USA as interim CEO since July 2011, establishing a strategic direction, and building relationships with key US clients.

Clarion Events recently confirmed the appointment of Messe Frankfurt North America’s former president David Audrain as its new CEO and president for the US. Audrain will be replaced at Messe Frankfurt North America by John Gallagher, most recently senior VP at US company EJ Krause and Associates.

"Our search for a new president and CEO to guide Hannover Fairs USA and to build awareness of our global trade fair brands in the US was very thorough and we determined Larry is the best person to strengthen and grow our market share here," said Götz Dörmann, senior VP of global alliances at Deutsche Messe. “During the last six months, Larry has done a terrific job to bring the necessary skills and background to lead Hannover Fairs USA’s team forward in this tough economic climate.”

Prior to joining Hannover Fairs, Turner served as CEO of Roundhouse Advisors, a business-management consulting and coaching company.
