CAEXPO pledges new direction for 2012 expo

ASIA - The China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO) has targeted a range of measures to improve business for its next exhibition.

The event, which is held in the Nanning International Exhibition Hall in southern China every October, will aim to improve invitations to government leaders, sponsorship incentive policies, and promotions to raise its brand image.

"We want the expo to serve as a platform to better serve the development of the China-Asean Free Trade Agreement," said, Xu Qisong, deputy director for the department of Asian Affairs in China's commerce ministry.

The next exhibition on Oct 19-24 will have Burma as the focus country, and will have the theme "Science and Technology Co-operation."

Earlier this year, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau addressed the UK market as part of an international roadshow to promote Thailand as the hub of the ASEAN region.
