Reed Exhibitions Greater China expecting strong annual results

ASIA - Reed Exhibitions Greater China (REGC) has confirmed its annual results indicate 2011 has been a year of growth driven by new partnerships and show launches.

Reed launched seven new events in six different industry sectors this year, which it claims registered consistent and at times "double digit" growth.

President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, Preecha S Chen, said the company's soon to be released results show Reed is capitalising on China’s regional economies. “Our projections at the beginning of the year were pretty optimistic because we knew that industries like gifts and homeware and pharmaceuticals had tremendous room to grow. We are fully on track to meet our 2011 expectations and intend to put together a number of ambitious development strategies for 2012 and beyond.”

The seven new exhibitions, launched by Reed JV’s this year include Industrial Materials China; Gifts & Home Shanghai and Green Lighting Shanghai Expo and Forum in eastern China. China Maternity, Baby and Children’s Product Exhibition in Shenzhen; Green Hospital Solution Expo in Chengdu; China Veterinary Technology and Equipment Exhibition in Hefei and the China International Exhibition and Forum on Solid State Lighting in Guangzhou were also launched as part of Reed’s cross-China expansion.

In late October, the China (Shenzhen) International Gift & Home Fair drew 11 per cent more visitors than its 2010 edition, while the November event 100% Design Shanghai/IHDD drew 13,097 visitors, 15 per cent more than the last edition.

Mike Jiang, MD of Reed Huabo Exhibitions said: “What is particularly pleasing is that we are seeing improvements and growth in so many different aspects of the shows - not just in raw numbers through the doors. Strong results for shows like China (Shenzhen) Maternity, Baby & Children’s Product Exhibition spur our efforts to make further forays into new markets in 2012.”

In the US, Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has expanded its strategic partnership with Site, the global association for the motivational events and incentive travel industry.
