US-based association IAEE signs deal in Shanghai

AMERICAS – The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has formed an event development partnership with the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industries Association (SCEIA).

The agreement is planned to provide additional global opportunities for IAEE and SCEIA members to connect and develop new exhibitions and face-to-face events.

Outgoing IAEE president Steven Hacker said: "We are very enthusiastic about entering into this agreement with our friends and colleagues at SCEIA, and offer a new benefit and community for IAEE members. We are looking forward to collaborating and extending the available resources to members of both associations for many years to come."

The agreement carries benefits for members of both associations who will work together to advance exhibitions and events through education and networking events, and member-level pricing for each association’s events.

Other perks include recognition of the respective professional designations; shared research, data, news and information, and the creation of co-sponsored initiatives to facilitate member interaction and opportunities for association leaders to participate in reciprocal events.

SCEIA chairman Wu Cheng Lin said: "We look forward to working together to provide benefits to exhibitions and events industry professionals globally which will allow the industry to grow and strengthen."

The IAEE is launching a new PR campaign to generate awareness about the value of exhibitions on business and commerce.
