EUROPE - UBM Canon has announced the debut Medtec Italy will take advantage of the large number of medical technology businesses located in the north of the country.
The fair will take place on September 26 and 27 in Modena, offering design and manufacturing solutions.
Eighty per cent of all Italian businesses active in medical technology are located in northern Italy. Specifically, the region around Modena and the neighbouring city of Mirandola is seen as the centre of biomedicine in the country, with more than 100 manufacturers in the sector based there.
UBM bought medical and manufacturing trade show and media company Canon Communications from Spectrum Equity Investors and Apprise Media for US$287m last year.
