New sponsors for 20th anniversary AIME 2012

AUSTRALISIA - The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) moves into its 20th anniversary year in 2012 with new sponsors, including Air New Zealand, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and the International Special Events Society (ISES).

Saxton Speakers Bureau returns to AIME for a third consecutive year to run the Saxton Ultimate Event Experience show feature.

Sally de Swart, Reed Travel Exhibitions' (RTE) Director for AIME, is “delighted” with the new sponsors. “We know these partners will help keep AIME fresh and exciting,” she said, adding that the association sponsors would “refresh” AIME’s Education Programme.

“We are asking our existing and new association partners to contribute to our refreshed Education Programme which will assist us in delivering relevant and interesting content that addresses the current challenges and issues facing the meetings and incentives industry,” De Swart said.

De Swart is also shaking things up on the show floor with a new Association Lounge, two Globe restaurants, one sponsored by Singapore Tourism and the other by South African Tourism.

Two new pre-touring options will offer hosted buyers the opportunity to experience Melbourne and regional Victoria first hand, while a Hume City Council full-day tour will offer buyers the chance to sample local wines. There will also be a half-day Melbourne Coffee Tour.

De Swart also promises an expanded social side of AIME in 2012.

“It’s AIME’s 20th birthday, so of course this year’s networking functions will be second to none. From our Welcome Reception to a new, Tuesday night event – we want everyone who attends to meet fantastic people and have a memorable time,” she said.

AIME 2012, owned by Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau, runs 21-22 February 2012 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).
