Finalists named for EEAA awards

AUSTRALASIA - The finalists for the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia’s (EEAA) 2011 Awards for Excellence have been announced.

Interpoint Events' Splash! Asia Pool and Spa has been nominated for best new show.

The firm’s Splash! exhibition won the Best Australian Show at last year’s awards held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The EEAA event will be held at the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner on 6 December at Crystal Palace, Luna Park Sydney.

EEAA general manager Joyce DiMascio said this year’s entries were up by 20 per cent.

“This year we saw a diverse range of new shows entered in the Best New Show category as shown by the diversity of the finalists which covered shows for rare and vintage cars and bikes, mining and engineering and a new Asian pool and spa event,” Ms DiMascio said.

New to the 2011 awards ceremony will be a celebration of the industry’s rising stars.

The evening will also follow EEAA’s Annual Conference, which will be staged the same day, at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
