Eco Expo Asia launches new initiatives

ASIA -  Eco Expo Asia 2011 is offering new fringe programmes that it claims will offer attendees improved market intelligence and business opportunities.

This year’s event is themed ‘Green Tech for a Low-Carbon Economy’ and will feature more than 260 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions according to organisers.

A new one-on-one initiative, the Exchange Forum, provides a one-stop platform for buyers to meet different suppliers of the same sector. On 27 October the forum will be devoted to waste management and recycling, with green building becoming the subject on 28 October.

Pavilions from Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, the UK and US, and a national booth from the Netherlands are among the show’s key exhibits. In addition, regional mainland pavilions from Foshan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen will also be on display this year.

The annual Eco Asia Conference, to be held on 26 – 28 October, will be divided into five sessions in 2011: Eco Opportunities and Challenges in the Mainland’s 12th Five-Year Plan, Green Tech Transfer and Business Opportunities; Waste Management and Recycling; Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency and Green Building.

Eco World Asia takes place on 26–29 October at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. The event is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council with the Environment Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
