Court ruling leaves Samsung to unable to display flagship product at IFA

GERMANY – Consumer electronics giant Samsung is unable to display its flagship tablet device at Messe Berlin’s IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin due to an ongoing dispute with Apple over patents.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab device has been accused of patent infringement by Apple and cannot be sold in Germany due to a court ruling in Dusseldorf on Friday. The ruling means the new device cannot be displayed at the fair in Berlin, which runs until 7 September.

On Monday, Renate Künast, a candidate for the post of Governing Mayor of Berlin, helped boost the profile of the show by taking part in a tour of the event.
