TCEB calls on exhibitors to build new childrens venue

THAILAND - The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has completed a highlight feature of its Believe in Thailand campaign; building a new venue for children.

The task, part of TCEB’s Connections Plus 2011 programme, saw 120 meetings and exhibitions industry buyers, exhibitors and MICE media representatives from 17 countries travel to Thailand to build a multi-purpose building for children in the Wat Khok Chang community at Hua Hin.

The activity was part of a series of tasks involving other Corporate Social Responsibility activities. The building is designed as a clay house under the Sufficiency Economy philosophy of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX.

Aside from CSR duties, participants also sample some of the regional venues, centering on Hua Hin as a high-end MICE destination.

TCEB recently campaigned to encourage Indonesian companies to visit five of the bureau’s ‘champion’ trade shows at a business forum.
