All Energy expo acquired by Reed exhibitions

Reed Exhibitions has acquired Media Generation Events, organiser of the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference.

All-Energy has taken place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) since launching in 2001 and claims to be the UK’s largest event dedicated to clean and renewable energy.

Media Generation Events claims the show grew 35 per cent this year compared with 2010 with 580 exhibitors and almost 8,000 participants attending the show. The deal was brokered by Mayfield Media.

“Acquiring All-Energy is an important step in securing our position in the UK’s alternative energy market, and is a key strategic element in our global renewable energy strategy,” said Reed Exhibitions divisional MD Justin Tadman.

The next edition of the show will take place on 23 and 24 May 2012 at the AECC.

“Reed is an established client of the AECC as part of the Offshore Europe Partnership and we look forward to a long and productive partnership with All-Energy under Reed’s ownership,” said AECC MD Brian Horsburgh.

The acquisition of All-Energy is a strategically vital component to Reed Exhibitions’ rapidly expanding global energy portfolio in North and South America, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. In the past year they have acquired and launched shows in Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Russia, Singapore – and now the UK.

The organiser earlier this year reported the growth of its G2E Asia gaming event, co-organised with the American Gaming Association.

Ongoing investment in All-Energy, in terms particularly of resources at home and globally, is hoped to continue its growth as the "leading all renewables event in the UK," according to a spokesman.

Reed Exhibitions’ activity in the alternative energy sector this year has seen the recent acquisition of Multiplus Fairs and Events, Brazil’s leading organiser of bio-fuel events including Fenasucro, the region’s leading ethanol manufacturing event, and the co-located agri-industrial event Agrocana. These acquisitions, now including All-Energy, will add to Reed Exhibitions’ alternative energy portfolio which includes existing events such as PV Expo and Fuel Cell Expo in Japan, Asia Smart Grid in Singapore, and the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi.
