Marina Bay Sands appoints president and CEO

SINGAPORE – Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has appointed George Tanasijevich as its new president and CEO.

Tanasijevich is MD of MBS parent company global development for Las Vegas Sands Corp. He was the interim CEO and previously served as the GM and VP of Singapore Development, leading the development of Las Vegas Sands Corp’s winning bid for Singapore’s first Integrated Resort at Marina Bay.

“As our first employee in Singapore, George was instrumental in Las Vegas Sands’ successful bid for the Marina Bay Integrated Resort," said Las Vegas Sands Corp president and chief operating officer Michael Leven.

“Throughout Marina Bay Sands’ construction and opening phases, he has been a steady and strong force for the company and we are proud to have him lead Marina Bay Sands to even greater heights.”

Prior to joining Marina Bay Sands in 2005, Tanasijevich was based in Macau as director of development, responsible for the coordination of various commercial activities related to Las Vegas Sands Corp’s Cotai Strip projects.

MBS has also appointed former VP for conventions and exhibitions Benny Zin as chief operating officer.

The Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore and the National Environment Agency recently selected MBS to launch a new exhibition and conference for the solid waste management and environmental technology sectors.
