Organiser pulls adult expos over competition concerns

USA - The organiser of the Adultcon porn exhibition is withdrawing two of its exhibitions from the Los Angeles Convention Centre (LACC).

The decision to pull the shows mean there will only be one show, rather than three, next year. At least 30,000 people were expected to attend the three Adultcons shows in 2011.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the organiser has withdrawn the shows because the LACC refused to bar other sex-themed gatherings within three months of the event. The LACC also hosts the Exxxotica show, which charges an entrance fee to meet porn stars and the slightly more self-explanatory Everything to Do With Sex event.

Adultcon VP Renaud West said too many shows confuses the public and are bad for business, a point dismissed by the LACC.
