China SSL 2011 moves to Guangzhou to accelerate development

CHINA/MACAU - Reed Exhibitions is moving the China International Exhibition and Forum on Solid State Lighting (China SSL) to Guangzhou to capitalise on the market’s growing SSL sector.

Guangzhou is an increasingly popular venue for high-profile international events and an attractive draw for global buyers, according to Reed. The organiser claims the province of Guangdong is important to China’s lighting industry, home to the largest SSL industry in China and the majority of lighting companies.

The event will span 20,000sqm at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center from 8 to 10 November 2011.

The exhibition and forum highlight development in manufacturing equipment, raw materials, technology, products and applications in SSL. The concurrently held forum has run for seven consecutive editions, and is expected to attract 2,000 government officials, company executives and industry leaders.

Elsewhere in Asia, Reeds’s fifth annual G2E Asia attracted more than 5,700 gaming industry professionals from 59 different countries or regions, up 25 per cent on the previous edition.

According to Reed Exhibitions and the American Gaming Association, these figures reflect the continued expansion of gaming throughout the Asian region.

The event took place from 7 to 9 June at the Venetian Macao.

Earlier this month Reed Travel Exhibitions appointed Eric Rozenberg, president of Belgian-based Swantegy, as its non-executive chairman of the global portfolio of meetings events.
