Emap and Mack Brooks take BETT to Asian education market

ASIA - Emap is launching a new edition of its BETT education exhibition in Malaysia in November.

The inaugural BETT Asia will take place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 8 to 9 November and replaces the former BES-Asia event, organised by the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA). The new exhibition is the first to be launched under the new Emap and Mack Brooks international joint venture, announced in June in partnership with BESA. It is also supported by the UK Trade and Investment.

According to Emap, BETT Asia will feature 100 exhibitors and two conference theatres. Rather than be strictly focused on education technology, the Asian event will aim to cover the entire ASEAN education and skills sectors and include Learn Live workshops and seminars. A formal meet-the-buyer programme will also be in place.

“By bringing the BETT experience to Asia, exhibitors and visitors will benefit from the proven successful format of BETT in the heart of this ever expanding region,” Emap MD Paul Dunne said. “Working with BESA, Mack Brooks and UKTI we are looking forward to bringing world leading educational solutions to Asia.”

BESA director general Dominic Savage said it was pleased to be working in partnership with Emap on the new exhibition.

“From our experience of developing BES Asia there is tremendous potential in the region and the political will, across all ASEAN countries to invest heavily in their education and skills sectors,” he said.
