Charity expo aids Christchurch businesses

NEW ZEALAND – A newly-formed charity has used the exhibition medium to help businesses affected by the Christchurch earthquake.

Organised by Rochelle Jackson, the two-day Hands Up Wellington exhibition gave Christchurch businesses a place to sell their wares, after many of their shops were destroyed in the disaster.

According to Jackson, 10,000 to 15,000 visitors attended the expo, and many shopkeepers were able to sell off all their stock.

The show took place on 2 and 3 July at the Queens Wharf Event Centre on the Wellington Water Front.
