Inaugural AIBTM attracts healthy exhibitor numbers

USA - The first American Meetings and Events exhibition, AIBTM, is in full swing after having to increase its original floor plan by 40 per cent.

It is hosting 789 exhibitors from across 52 countries, most of who are participating in over 11,000 pre-scheduled business meetings this week, and it seems to be paying dividends for some.

“The format is excellent for a first year show. We have done enough business on the first day open to show floor visitors (22 June) that meant I could’ve gone home there and then,” said VP of sales and service at Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority, Gary Musich.

EW reported Montgomery Worldwide Chairman Sandy Angus and Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre MD Cliff Wallace were among the four event industry leaders inducted into the Convention Industry Council (CIC) Hall of Leaders at a gala dinner in Baltimore on 21 June).

AIBTM runs from 21 to 23 June at the Baltimore Convention Centre.
