"I am delighted to be considered for this award," Angus said. "The fact of being the first British person to have been admitted into the Hall of Leaders is a true honour."

Wallace also described being recognised by CIC andincluded in its Hall of Leaders as "an honour".

"But more significantly," he said, "and meaningful to me is to be a part of a group of leaders who are so respected and have made such a positive difference in this special and important industry in which we work and that we represent daily as ambassadors."

The ceremony was held at the Baltimore Convention Center, which is currently hosting the inaugural Reed Travel Exhibitions AIBTM show.

Earlier this month, Montgomery acquired 100 per cent of Fresh RM after buying out JV partner Reed Exhibitions.
