Kivinen to leave Finnish Fair Corporation

FINLAND – Finnish Fair Corporation MD Pentti Kivinen will retire on 1 August this year.

He will be succeeded by Christer Haglund, who will take up the position that same day.

Haglund was previously Finnair Group’s senior vice president for public affairs and corporate communications. Before that he worked as a journalist and held various media positions with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland, Sweden and the USA.

“Haglund will bring a creative and strategic perspective to the corporation, as well as strong expertise in international communications, marketing and networking,” said Keijo Suila, chairman of the Finnish Fair Corporation’s board of directors. “These qualities are ideally suited to tackling the Finnish Fair Corporation’s future challenges.”

Last year, the Finland Convention Bureau ceased trading, its duties taken over by the Finnish Tourist Board.
