Diversified marks Q2 with launches and acquisitions

WORLD – Diversified Business Communications is launching seven shows internationally in India, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Canada, the USA and the Netherlands over the next two years.
 
Office management exhibition Office will run for the first time in the US (Washington DC), Canada (Toronto) and Australia after a successful launch in the UK last year.
 
Speaking to EW, Diversified UK MD Carsten Holm said depending on launch success, Diversified will look for local partners to push into new territories where they do not yet have offices.
 
Fine Food India launches 5-7 December 2011 in New Delhi, India. The event will replace the International Food and Drink Expo that Diversified acquired from Tarsus.
 
Grand Designs Australia Live will run from 18 to 20 May 2012 in Melbourne, Australia, a partnership between Diversified and UK-based organiser Media 10. The launch follows plans to run Grand Designs in Sydney in October 2011.

Natural and Organic Scandinavia launches on 10 and 11 October 2012 at the new Malmömassan venue in Sweden. Diversified claims this will be the first trade event for the organic business sector in the Scandinavian market.

The Digital Asset Management Conference (DAM) runs on 8 and 9 November in the Netherlands. Run by Diversified subsidiary Createasphere, DAM will co-locate with Diversified’s SPAR Europe. DAM has already run in Los Angeles and New York.
 
Following the success of its Retail Asia Expo, Diversified will launch China Retail in the fall of 2012 in partnership with EJ Krause.
 
Finally, Frozen Food Asia will launch in September 2012 in Hong Kong, co-located with the company’s Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong and the Asian Seafood Exposition.
 
In addition to the above launches, Diversified recently made three acquisitions in the business management and entertainment technology sectors: The Service Desk and IT Support Show and online counterpart Service Desk 360, acquired from The Service Desk Institute and VCM Events (London, UK 24-25 April 2012); Integrate, acquired from Alchemedia (Sydney, Australia 30 August – 1 September 2011); and publisher and educational event producer ProVideo Coalition, acquired from owner and founder Scott Gentry.
